Welcome students!

My name is Kennedy, and I am the Backlot and Special Events Coordinator. My role within the GCSU is to coordinate the day-to-day operations of our campus bar, the GCSU Backlot. The Backlot is owned by you, the GCSU members, and it’s important to me that the desires of the student body are reflected in the way that the Backlot operates. Every year, the GCSU hires approximately fifteen student employees to help offer a wide variety of events and entertainment throughout the year. These student staff members are a crucial part of our mission to foster a safe and socially
responsible environment on campus.

The GCSU Entertainment Committee, who I work closely with, are responsible for ensuring the events on campus remain fun and exciting, unique, and welcoming to all students. We host open meetings regularly, and I encourage you to attend and bring your suggestions and feedback regarding events on campus.

Use of the Backlot is provided at no cost for GCSU Clubs, Societies, and Caucus groups to host Grenfell Campus social gatherings. If you are interested in hosting an event at the GCSU Backlot, feel free to stop by my office (AS276L) or reach out to me
