The Grenfell Campus Student Union advocates for its members to university administration, and to the provincial and federal governments through the Canadian Federation of Students. Every year, the Union participates in two national and one provincial general meeting of the Canadian Federation of Students. At these meetings, students develop campaign plans, review Federation finances, and work to develop and improve Federation services. Membership in the Federation gives the Union the right to vote on all resolutions at the meeting and fully participate in decision-making. Union members have lobbied Members of the House of Assembly and successfully pressured the provincial government to freeze and/or reduce tuition fees for over ten consecutive years. The Union has and will continue to focus on improving student financial assistance, increasing funding for post-secondary education, and supporting domestic and international students’ issues.

Executive members also provide assistance to students who are experiencing difficulties with student financial assistance, academic appeals, and issues related to on-campus housing and campus safety.
